OK, so I'll try using Sibelius instead of Finale and take my chances. The biggest problem I have is that I can't hear the notes as I enter them. Also, I can't hear anything on playback.

I'm a Sibelius newbie so I'm stumped as to what to do. I'm using the Oxygen8 keyboard and Sibelius recognizes it as an input device, but that's it.

You use Kompakt and maple midi, right? Make sure that maple is set as your output device in Sibelius (devices window), and also check to make sure that it's set to "ON" in Kompakt's MIDI-IN setup area. Also, be sure that "MIDI Thru" is checked (on) in Sibelius' devices window.
