spock drum produces rim sound

For some reason, I get a rim sound instead of a drum sound for the 6" drum. I'm running Sibelius 3.1, Kontakt 1.5 and MacOS 10.3.3. Could this be a problem on my end, or did I get a faulty product?
Are you only hearing it in Kontakt or are you hearing it on playback as well? I hear rim shot when I hit the note directly in Kompakt, but when I enter the note into a score and play it back, it plays back fine.
I actually hear the correct sound when I ENTER the note in Sibelius, but on playback (when it counts!), I get the rim sound. Also, I discovered last night that I don't ALWAYS get rims.

For instance, there is a portion of the score that has two full measures of 1/8th notes on the 6" drum. The first one or two play as drum hits, and then the rest of them sound like rims.
How much memory do you have on your computer? How many sounds besides the tenor voice are you running? It could be that you have too many sounds running and not enough memory. That causes Kompakt to not have enough time to reset, for lack of a better word, which would give you the rim shot sound you hear. Try playing just the tenor part and see if that helps.

Otherwise, I'm stumped.
I have 2 gigs of RAM, and I had this problem whether I was running the drumline samples alone or with other sounds. Jim Casella sent me a Kontakt file that fixed the problem. Thanks again, Jim!
I have Kompakt, and I have the same problem. Some time it plays the spock drum sound, but most of the time it plays the rim sound.

Any chance Jim could send me that file as well. I'd like to find a better solution than the one I cobbled together.
Howdy,
I've been testing the files on my end and thought Ari could give some good feedback on if it worked on another system. Since it looks like the new .nki articulation files will help resolve this problem, we'll have them posted on the tapspace support page by Monday morning.

Thanks for your help with this one!
The tenor files worked, but I can't get the snare, bass, or cymbal files to load. They're looking for samples they can't find or something, and it keeps freezing Kontakt.
The updated .nki files are now available at:
https://www.tapspace.com/vdrumlinesupport.html

Give them a try.
I downloaded the update, but whn I try to access the files in Kompakt, they say they were created with a newer version of Kontakt and cannot be opened. What do I need to do?

You need to go to the Native Instruments site and update to the most current version of Kompakt.
This may have something to do with the way the .nki files were originally saved by Tap Space. There are new files up on the support site (version 1.2). Try downloading those and installing them. Be sure to read the READ ME file as well.
