I have VD up and running on Sibelius 3...and i have been playing around with it...but the one thing that i have yet to figure out is how are the tenor drums laid out on the staves? everytime i think that i have it figured out, i am wrong...right now i am looking at getting the 1-4 drums and shot drums down...then i can worry about everything else...
i guess that i should add that i am just using my mouse...i know this is not the most effective way to do it right now...but i am trying to save up some money...
thanks...

I'm not sure I'm following you. The available sounds can be viewed on the VDrumline Keymap diagrams located in the HelpFile included on the VDL disk. From there, you should see when you enter the notes, they appear on the correct staff lines.
If you haven't yet studied the keymaps, it's a good idea to print them out while you're learning where all the sounds are located on your MIDI keyboard (you are using a midi keyboard, right?).
spock=one space above staff
drum 1 = treble clef "E" space
drum 2 = treble cleff "C" space
etc...
Pretty typical notation I think...

Adam...
thanks for the speedy response...
currently i am not using a midi keyboard...i am doing it the old fashioned way...i know that the sounds are mapped out on the keyboard...but i didn't know that there was something else to show how it is laid out on the staves...
i will definitely check that out tonight...
another question...
i can get the notes to play back properly through the sibelius template that you provided...but how do i set it up for just a new, blank score?
Thanks...

Once you've studied the keymap diagrams, I think you'll see more clearly why entering notes via a midi keyboard makes way more sense than using the mouse.
Question #2:
If you're trying to build a new score, I'd suggest you START with the Tapspace VDrumline Sibelius template. It contains a significant amount of percussion mapping information (staff types) that allow for the playback to be handled as expected. If you're starting from scratch, you'd have to build all those yourself, which will take hours (or longer).
