I'm Sold!!! I want to use Virtual Drumline and any other product that I need to support it such as Kompakt and the Oxygen 8 Midi Keyboard with my Sony Vaio Laptop w/ XP. But the most important question I need answered before making the purchase is... can I use Virtual Drumline with Finale 2001b? And if so, what are the dissadvantages I would experience other than not being able to use the VD template? Please let me know as I am eager to make this purchase. Thank You.

As far as I know, the main thing would be features in finale itself, since they have done quite a lot with the program since 2001 to enhance its efficiency. it's still a bear of a program, but there are definitely many upgrades since that version. So, you'd have to create a template from scratch. But this is not necessarily a bad thing, as it would allow you to set things up in a way that makes sense for you. But be prepared to spend some time really dialing it in. Should work fine for you, though.
