Dinks and Duts

Okay, I put a couple of samples into the mix to see how it would come out. It sounds very much like a live recording. Just the right amount of reverb on the Dr. Beat and the right blend of voices on the duts. I'm pleased.

Here are two mp3 examples.

The duts were from a Cadets recording and the Dr. Beat was from a Court of Honor recording. I don't have a good recording system right now, so I had to scam the audio from what I had on my hard drive. I just edited them down and dropped them into Kontakt.

Maybe I'll find those grunt sounds and the Cadets "One-two-three-four, Two-two-three-four, Three-two-three-four, Dut-dut-dut-dut" next.

hahahaha. Very good. I thought maybe you had really lost it and had sat around trying to get all that recorded with good sound quality.

I am glad to hear that you aren't too crazy. hahahaha

hey thanks for all the help, this makes all my work sound compleatly real, keep the sounds coming like maybe some loud huh!'s lol i got a space in one of my cadences that i have the line do that. but any way keep it up it's great stuff
David,

How do you assign the duts and dinks from within Sibelius? I use Kontakt and Sibelius 3. The quality of the two sounds are great and I would LOVE to be able to use them in my files for my kids. I just need to know how to assign them from within Sibelius.

Thanks a ton for your time!

sweet, maybe a quad split in the triple beat? good job.
Sorry man, I don't use Sibelius.

I'm sure someone here could fill you in on it though.

You're not assigning them in Sibelius. You're assigning them in Kontakt. That is of course, assuming you're using the standalone Kontakt and not the player that comes with Sibelius. Bascially, what you'd need to do is load the sounds into a blank channel in Kontakt, then, add another staff to your Sibelius score and set that staff to the proper channel. Then, you'd just assign the notes as normal.
