Before I make a final decision on purchasing VD...

Hello. Make no mistake, I am no computer illiterate person, but there's a lot about Virtual Drumline that I have yet come to understand, heh.
I understand so far that Virtual Drumline is a library of real-life sound samples that is integrated or configured for all of those programs listed, Kompakt/Kontakt/GigaStudio/Finale/Sibelius etc etc...
If I purchase this, I would most likely choose to use it with my Finale 2003, since i know it better than I do my version of Sibelius.
I've noticed in the demos and other files i've listened to from users of VD, i hear clean double-stroked rolls. Does Virtual Drumline enable Finale/Sibelius to playback diddles? In my past experiences, Finale and Sibelius wouldn't playback dynamics or articulation at all. Does Virtual Drumline allow for this? (as I assumed i've heard in the demo mp3's), or is there something different that everyone's doing?
I heard about VD about a month ago and thought it sounded too good to be true, but when I listened to the demos, I could just cry, lol. So, this virtual drumline and library samples with Finale/Sibelius stuff is new to me, so please be patient if I'm missing something simple.[/img]

The ability to playback articulations and dynamics is in Finale and Sibelius. When you enter these items you need to enable playback information. In finale for example, if you wish to set a dynamic level and place it in your score it is important to edit the marking, select playback and enter a midi playback value (1 to 127). The same is true for most articulations such as accents. To create realistic diddles you will need to use the TG Tools smart playback.

Certian sound cards, especially older ones that use FM MIDI synthesis instead of wave tables, don't respond to all CC tracks like Expression and Volume.
But since VD uses multi-layered SoundFonts, the playback volume is irrevelent. What it depends on instead is the note velocity to determine how the note is played back.
I know this isn't really what you're looking for, but it is how MIDI works with Virtual Drumline.

This also how Finale works for expression playback, velocity for dynamics and accents.
