i installed soundcard and software and in the MIDI in/out i have Maple Midi In: Port 1 and i cannot find the soundcard file in the drop down menu.. i have not made any progress with VD please i am begging someone to lead me in the right direction!!!

If you're using the soundfonts, you don't need to use the Maple Midi Tools. It should appear in the message box. It may not be called SoundBlaster Live, it might be called Default MIDI, or something similar to that.
