I'm really looking forward to getting my copy of VDL:2 in the next couple weeks. It will be nice to finally have affordable front ensemble sounds to work with. However, one thing still bums me out...I cannot seem to find good affordable wind samples that are focused on a wind ensemble vs an orchestra (missing saxaphones, limited brass sounds, ridiculously expensive, etc). I have looked at East West, Vienna Brass, and anything else I can find out there but have not had any luck. I've also looked at the VDL:1 forums but haven't been able to find anything. I'm sure there is somebody on this forum who has been down this road before. What are you using? Better percussion samples are making the wind samples sound awful by comparison. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Take a look at GArritan Personal Orchestra (GPO). I think Garritan can run as a VSTi or DXi along with VD:2. Bear in my mind that you will need a fast computer to run all at once.

GPO does not have sax samples. They are in the process of producing a jazz library which will obviously have saxes.
