I'm new to using the simple entry tool with a midi keyboard. So here's a simple question... how do you select which staff you want to enter notes into without clicking the mouse in that staff, and thereby entering some random note? That frustrated me for a half hour until I gave up.
Simple question #2: I used to hear crescendos/decr. in playback using QuickTime sounds. Since using VD2, they're gone. Any ideas?
#3: How do you enter flams? I've been turning eighth notes into grace notes. Is that the most practical way to do it? Also, and more importantly, can you control the playback of how close the grace note is to the accented note? I'm pretty sure you can, but all I've found is grace note duration. Is this what controls it?
And the suggestions...
I had mentioned to Jim at their booth at Dayton that it would be nice if there was some way that stickings could be automated, since we're striking discreet midi notes for left and right hands. I also thought the same for accents, so that any velocity above a certain value would automatically add an accent.
If anyone out there knows how to create Finale plug-ins, get to work. I'm ready to buy it.

#1 As far as I know, you have to use the mouse to choose different staves.
#2 If you are using 2004-2005 you can use Human Playback for rendering the expressions and VDL2 as the playback engine. I personally recommend using TGTools instead because of the Human Playback bug with triplet rolls. The MIDI Tool is also useful for fine-tuning crescendos, decrescendos, and inner/tap beats.
#3 You are on track with changing the eighth note to a grace note. To create tighter flams, go to Options(main menu):Document Options: Grace Notes: Playback Duration=64 EDU's

I'm using the TG tools, as I was before VD2. So I haven't changed anything that I know of, yet it's not working the same. I hear nothing for cresc/decr.
