I just got VD2 in the mail yesterday and I'm loving it so far. The only problem I'm having is with the Tenor and Bass Staves when entering notes in Finale 2003. When I use a midi keyboard to enter in parts for either instrument on the template I downloaded from the site, they are not being inserted correctly. Several drums appear on the same line with just different note heads, almost as if it was snare notation. I have VD1 and never had any problems like this. I was wondering if there was a quick fix, or am I going to need to go through the percussion map and reassign the staff positions?
Are you using the Finale 2003 Template version 0.9 or 0.9.1? You shouldn't have to re-build any of the mapping, but if there's a problem with a specific template, we'll address it and have it fixed for you promptly.

I double checked and I was using the 0.9.1 template, but I downloaded it again just to make sure and I'm still having troubles with the notation.

I ended up finding out what was wrong. I was using the AutoRL set and when went into check out the mapping, I noticed that it was set to Full/Lite. Changing this setting set all the notes to the proper spaces on the staff. So if anyone ever runs into this, just use your staff tool to bring up the staff attributes window. In the lower left corner it should say Notation Style: Percussion Then click on the select button and you can alter between the different sample sets.

Glad to hear you're back on track! Oftentimes it's the simple stuff that gets us, but thanks for posting to let us know. I'm sure others will be able to learn from your experience. Hope you're making good strides with VDL2!
