I just ordered a new laptop for college...I read the system requirements and everything that came with VD2 but based on reading other people's posts, I'm still wondering if I will run into any really ";bad/choppy"; playback problems running VD2 with Sibelius 3 on my new laptop? I will be running an Intel Pentium M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB), 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm, a 100GB Hard Drive, and the defalut soundcard....I'm asking this becasue people with faster computers were running into some problems....any thoughts would be great.

Almost all of the people posting problems with playback are laptop users (and finale users). 1 GB of RAM is good, but make sure you install the Direct From Disk download and then adjust the DFD settings in VDL2- most like you will need to use ";small instruments."; The Pentium M seems to perform well in things like games, but poorly when rendering audio/video files, so don't expect to load up a crotale choir and have them play 32nd note runs. Also make sure VDL2 is set to use ASIO drivers from your soundcard.

If you still have trouble making a good audio recording when loading up a full ensemble, try breaking it down by sections. Make a battery .wav, then a mallet file, then an aux file, and you can mix them back together in a number of audio programs like Cubase, Sonar, Adobe Audition, etc. Doing it this way also lets you fine-tune the ballance between sections too.
