I'm having a problem adding a bowed gong part to my score. I'm using sibelius and just kontakt that comes with vd2. I'm under the impression I can't just change the instrument in a staff so I created an extra staff and set it to the right midi channel but I can't seem to get the sound to come out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you writing using the Sibelius keymap?

There may not be a Sibelius ";staff type"; setup for the Bowed Gong instrument (can't remember off the top of my head). But this may have something to do with why it isn't playing. If you have a specific percussion staff type set to your extra staff, try changing it to a ";pitched-5 line"; style, and simply enter the various bowed gong midi pitches directly into that staff. You may need to re-enter the notes to ensure they playback with basic noteheads.
