More of a Finale tip, but still pertinent.

It's the nature of our business to know the length of our music.

I've found (by accident) that in Finale, if you use the Mass Edit Tool and you type the number 25 (with nothing highlighted) it displays the length of the current piece.

Actually, it's just the number 5, the 2 isn't required. Also, if you select a section and press '5', it'll tell you the time in the piece where the selection starts, ends, and elapsed time of section.
