PROBLEM WITH AUDIO EXPORT!

I AM NEW TO VDL2, BUT BASED ON MY ";EXPERIENCE"; SO FAR....I LOVE IT!  I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH RECORDING THOUGH!

FIRST, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I CAN DO....

I HAVE VDL2, AND SIBELIUS 4 THAT ARE LINKED WITH MIDI YOKE 1.
I HAVE DOWNLOADED THE SIBELIUS 3/4 TEMPLATE FROM TAPSPACE/UPDATES.
I CAN ENTER NOTATION WITH MY MIDI KEYBOARD, AND PLAYBACK MY COMPOSITION.
WHEN I EXPORT AUDIO SIBELIUS WILL PLAY BACK MY COMPOSITION AND A ";STATUS BAR"; SHOWS PROGRESS OF THE RECORDING.

HOWEVER, WHEN I CLICK ON THE SOUND FILE THAT I CREATED THERE IS NO SOUND.  IT PLAYS BACK IN WINDOWS MEDIA, BUT THEIR IS LITERALLY NO SOUND.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Whoa, Easy on the Caps Lock key, it looks like you're shouting.

In regard to your problem...Sibelius cannot export audio using the Tapspace (or any other third party) library.  The export audio function is only available to the sounds in Kontakt Silver/Gold included with the program.  The easiest way to make a recording of your pieces using VDL, is to download a recording program.  Depending on your OS you can download Wiretap from Ambrosia Software (Mac) or #1 Sound Recorder from www.aonesoft.com (PC).  There are also a lot of freeware programs out there, the two mentioned have been used and have worked for other users and their configurations.

Good Luck,

Gabe
Ditto that. People might be more prone to want to help you if you aren't yelling at them Jbro...

Another free audio recording program that many people have had success with is Audacity available at:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
I downloaded the recorder and it worked.  Thanks for the help!

About the ";capslock"; thing......didn't know it was a ";cyber-scream";..... thanks again!

Did download Audacity? If so how did you get it to record the sib. files?
Thanks,
Chad
collver,

Most consumer grade sound cards have a ";What you hear"; feature that allows you to record what is streaming through the sound card.  Professional grade cards normally do not have this feature, but all Creative cards do, and I am sure that others do.  If it is not automatically set in Audacity when you open it up, you would need to open up the mic drop down menu and select it, or something similar to it.

If you have a professional grade card, you'll just need to make sure you understand which inputs you need to use.  What sound card are you using?

Hope this helps.
