Does anyone know if they have something like this available or in the works? I have had a few people ask me if they would be able to use SmartMusic with music I send them. I know that Sibelius has their Musition and Notes software, but are these comparable to SmartMusic?
This might be the one field in which Sibelius is lacking Finale/MakeMusic. If Sibelius does not have a product available like this, is there any third party software available that might accomplish the same result? If not, maybe this could be a venture for you software developing gurus out there! :-)
I can't officially speak for Sibelius, but I do know that there is something ";in the works."; Sibelius is starting to make great strides in the education market and something similar to Smart Music is on the way. As you know, Sibelius takes its time before releasing software and doesn't rush new versions or new titles just to keep up with demand, that's why every version of Sibelius has had major improvements and added features. In the meantime, take a look at ";In the Chair"; www.inthechair.com. This company is in the early stages and I have tested the software for them and have been pleased. There are still some bugs to work out but it looks like it will be a wonderful piece of software once it is perfected.

I couldn't say anything before, but Sibelius announced the official partnership with ";In the Chair"; in their latest Gracenotes newsletter. You can view the information here http://www.sibelius.com/news/index.html. Kudos to Sibelius, this sounds exciting.
