If it is possible, it would be ";neat"; to have some tabla and dumbek sounds in the next version of The Virtual Drumline. I understand that it is not feasible to include every suggested sound that VDL users offer, but it seems reasonable that the tabla and dumbek are instruments that would prove useful additions to that palette of instruments/sounds now available for our arranging projects. I humbly submit for your consideration the tabla and the dumbek for the next VDL. That's my Christmas wish for my next version of the VDL.
I might also add that the higher tessitura of those instruments along with their timbre would give us great voices to work with in our arangements. I am grateful for the opportunity to make my suggestion.
Take care! Neal

Any thoughts on a steel pan update for VDL2? Or steel pan for VDL3?

In VDL3, I would LOVE a spiral bound user guide/keymap. Or Jim could make a 10x10 Poster to cover the ceiling in my office. Then I could just look up if I wanted to know where something was :)
I would love a variety of concert snare and drumset sounds. You know, Rock kit, Jazz kit, Fusion kit etc.
Or Keyboard effects! (Think Mark Ford)
Also, Trashy sounds could be fun too. I saw one of the many trash-percussion groups out there chainsaw through solid metal bars in rhythm!!! But I only want this sound if I could have a picture of Jim with the chainsaw on the front cover of VDL3 with a crazed look in his eye!
Or with the vocal section of VDL3, we could have fun drumcorps catch phrases! ";One more time"; (this one would of course repeat endlessly when the note was held) ";Good morning <insert corps here>. You have 10 minutes to be at stretch and run"; (followed by groans) Artic cold shower screams Surface of the sun scolding hot shower screams (I swear there's a difference)
OH! Practice pad sounds!!!! Preferably heavyhitter pads :)
Ok enough wishing:) Back to zee old marimba.

I don't know if this would be cost prohibitive or not but a spiral bound book with the key maps would be pretty killer!

Don't know about the concert snare sound thing but there are PLENTY of different drum set sounds (different kits) available in other sound sets....

True. I suppose I just want a one stop percussion library. Less money we all have to spend, and Jim makes millions ;)
