I'm working on one of my writing assignments - full battery and trap kit. And I go to enter the drumset and I'm not getting any noteheads or anything. I've tried ";view/use named notes only"; and I am using the VDL drumset notation thang.
Is there a glitch in the template? Or am I just being polish? Thanks guys.

I don't know - maybe I am not as hip or whatever as I was when I was younger or maybe I never was at all, but mixed in all of your cool words like ";dealio"; and ";thang"; I noticed something strikingly disturbing. While I am not personally the nationality you just made fun of, I DO take offense at you publically making fun of it - for the record. You may not think it is a big deal but I for one do.

Which Drum Set map are you using?
What do mean by ";tried the view/use named notes only";?

Dave,
I'm sorry you take offense at me calling myself polish. I actually am something like 75% polish, and have lived up quite to the stereotype of polish people in my life. Perhaps I'm just clumsy and lack some common sense at times, and being polish is just a coincidence. Regardless, as popeye would say, ";I yam what I yam";.
And, actually using words such as ";dealio"; and ";Thang"; are what I do in more relaxed settings, such as here online in the forums. I'm not trying to impress anyone, I'm just being me and being relaxed.
Nonetheless, I believe you've gotten a poor impression of me, based on my post in the main VDL II forum, which you percieved as bashing Tapspace - which was really meant as a post satirizing other ";infamous"; online community members. Really, I'm not a bad guy - ask Bill - I'm really a friendly guy who loves all things drumming and especially the online community - I'm even a mod at Drumlines.org.
I just wanted to address this because I feel as if you've got this impression of me being a hot-shot-wanna-be-young-punk - and I'm not. I'm just a wanna-be ;).
Back on topic...
In one the menus (staff I think), there is a notation option, where you can choose from traditional notation in finale or the vdl items. Under there, you can view the keymap, where it has a checkbox for ";use named notes only";. I have also had issues with the percussion staff, and clicking this box, for some reason, solved the issue. And I believe I'm using the ";basic"; one - the non RL one.
I'm perplexed about it, but I figured I'd ask here first before bugging someone via Aim.

Fair enough man. Thanks for taking the time to explain. To be completely honest, between the post in this topic and the other one in the main discussion forum, I had formed a pretty poor impression of you on here. From your explanation, that has now changed.
BAck on topic, I am a Sibelius man so sorry that I can't offer up any suggestions for you on the drum set question.

No problem, I figured that was the issue.
Nonetheless, to find out what I was refering to, visit drumhard.com on the forums and search for dakman. You'll see he's got nothing but a stick up his butt against VDLII and Tapspace products and staff. Henceforth, thats what I was shooting for, to be poking fun at him.

Were you able to resolve the issue regarding the drum set? If not, shoot me an email or message through the forum.

p.s.
I did not take offense at your comment and fully understood the DaKman reference.

WOW - I just spent a few minutes looking around that forum and I am SO GLAD things are not like that here. That dakman guy does seem to have a issue or two...
