I was wondering, How do I use some of the other instruments in VDL2 with sibelius, that are not included with the template? For example, I want to use the tam tam/bass drum samples, in a staff. How can I create this or set it up. Thanks in advance.
There is a BD/Tam tam staff type. If you want to add it to a score, simply add a staff type, then do a staff type change and change it to the BD/ Tam tam staff.

That's right.
This information is in your Sibelis documentation. For quick reference however, you can create a staff-type change by selecting the measure where you want it to appear, then go to:
Create>Other>Staff Type Change>Percussion>VDL2 BD/Tam
You will only have this option if you are working from the VDL2/Sibelius template.

Thanks, I learn so much from these posts. I was wondering. Is there a way to make my own staff type?say I wanted to make my own auxiliary combo that isn't listed. Just a thought. Mahalo

Yes - you can make your own staff types. Just go to the ";edit staff types"; window. Your Sibelius documentation will tell you all the details if it's not already obvious to you. Keep in mind, you can't have a common notehead sharing the same staff line or space for different sounds.
