I have been problems with sib. 4 playback using VDL 2. In the past every has worked fine with no problems but recently it will playback but I cannot get sib. 4 to stop it. I keeps playing and sib. 4 becomes unresponsive to anything.
I like I said before I have never had this problem. I have only loaded one marimba but I am running it through 5 channels. It is for a marimba quintet. Could this be the problem?
I am running on a little over 1 gb ram and I have been able to run other recording programs with it and had no problems until now.
Going thru with my sib 3 program and the play back is fine. So it has to be sib. 4 and not VDL 2 or my RAM.
Thanks guys for any help and input.

I don't know if the update for Sibelius 4.1 addresses the problem you are having, but it's at least worth a shot! That is, assuming that you haven't already downloaded the update.
Good luck!

Chad - I'm not sure exactly what to suggest. If Sibelius 4 is simply not responding to your commands, are you certain it's the active application? To start/stop Sibelius playback, you need to be ";in"; Sibelius so to speak. I realize this is pretty obvious, but perhaps you switched windows during playback, and forgot to switch back to Sibelius?
You'll be able to get a bit more detailed assistance if you can retrace your exact steps. Remember, we can't see or hear what you are doing, so take an extra minute to make sure your question makes clear sense.
A couple other things to double-check: - Make sure your playback device in Sibelius isn't set to the same device as your 'input' device. If this happens, you'll create a midi loop which is a bad thing. Not sure if that's why you're having problems, but it's a fairly common mistake.
-1 marimba through five channels? I think you lost me there. Do you mean you've set up five staves in Sibelius (aka: tracks), and each of those tracks is accessing one VDL2 marimba on the same midi channel? If so, you may likely max out the polyphony on that marimba. You'll probably find a much more desireable sound if you load five marimbas, or at least more than 1, and set each to a unique channel for each staff.
