Naturally, he'll be bored for the next 10 years...maybe he'll take up chess.

Dude, that's just a midget. I saw that cat play on the end of the Crossmen snareline back in 91-92. (kidding) Amazing stuff, wonder how he picked it up.
Jedi,
I'm the same way, I've got my 5 yr old daughter playing 8s and I find myself correcting my 2 yr old's hands when he picks up sticks. Is that bad?

I posted that (on Drumhard).
Dude's dad PM'ed the link to me.
Nice guy, too.
I'll let him know that you thought highly of his son's playing.

He's from Memphis/Cordova, Tennessee; and though I'm not certain, I believe that the young man's father teaches him.
Here's an excerpt from a post that he made on one of the rudimental drumming forums:
Drum set is his favorite type of drum/drumming followed by tenor(s)/quads. He is a very good drum set player. He uses matched-grip with an open style, and can do some nice stuff on the hat with his left hand (he is right handed). The snare drum is his least favorite. But as I said before, he really prefers melodic percussion and piano. He is a very good bell player and is coming along well on the piano (his favorite instrument) as well.
As far as the future (prior to college graduation), I think DCI and possibly WGI is in it. But, he may chose to play in the pit as opposed to battery. He also likes the idea of playing keyboards and/or drum set in a band. But, as many 10 year old boys would say, he plans to be in the NFL when he's an adult.

Good vibe (watch his eyes, they don't waiver), relaxed style, a decent sense of the Moeller stroke, decent sound quality.
