Kontakt 2 for intel macs available!!!

Finally!!!  Native Instruments has released the update for Kontakt 2 that will support intel based Macs.

www.native-instruments.com

I haven't been on this forum for quite some time. I've been able to solve most of the issues that I come across with my set -up. ....but in about a week I'm getting a Mac-Pro with the Intel Quad core 2.88GHZ processors and 4 Gig's of ram. I read some articles in audio enginering magazines about the Mac-Pro's and these very issues that have been posted about Sibelius and Kontakt. i justed wanted to say thank you for this info. before I get my new Mac. I have Kontakt 2 and will be sure to purchase the update.
It makes a huge difference! I've loaded a full battery and pit score with everyone playing and the CPU usage hasn't gone above 4 bars!
It should be mentioned that Native Instruments is now requiring Mac users to be on OSX 10.4.x for the Kontakt 2.2 update.
I just figured out ";TuoPohc";... duh

Would this mean by chance that VDL:2 will be intel compatible here pretty soon? (Though I do have to say it runs fine under rosetta.)

The update is the Universal Binary version.

To clarify - there will be a forthcoming update that is universal binary. There are still many steps for us to take to make this happen, so in the meantime, the best solution is to load VDL2 sounds into Kontakt 2.2. There will be more news on this update as details unfold.

Good call, I meant UB not intel. Peace...

You know, it also adds a big registration thing...  I'm not seeing anything that's worth getting the update, short of maybe the new DFD file.  I'm not sure how well it works; I haven't pushed it.  But hey, if it ain't broke, take a close look at what you get for it and see if it's worth it...
It's a full update for everyone.  yay 2.2...  let's hope it's an improvement!!
