I am using Finale 2007 and I am having trouble with flams.  When they playback they sound really open and I have the slashed grace note going and the EDU's set to 32.

Help anyone?

Try setting them down to 16 or 8, and what are your human plyback settings?

Marching Band Human Playback, or Human Playback in general does not playback some percussion things well like Open Rolls.  I would turn this off and then use the TG Tools SMART PLAYBACK (found in the Plugins Menu ) to process that measure.

For a tighter flam sound, try this:

1.  Go to OPTIONS
2.  Click on Document Options
3.  Click on Grace notes

You'll see a box in the dialog box that reads edu's:
Change those from 128 to either 64 or 32.  Changing
that box will affect the playback of the flams.  hope

I too am having problems with flams, but I think right now I am not entering them correctly to start with.  I am following what the instructions said (enter the note, then click the note value and the grace note on the simple entry palatte, then clicking to the left of the note that I want ";graced";.  Problem is it then changes the rhythm of the notes I entered...arg).  I wanted to try this as well,
1.  Go to OPTIONS
2.  Click on Document Options
3.  Click on Grace notes


But I don't see OPTIONS...what menu is this in (I need to stop working on things at night when i am tired....)?

You should find this under the DOCUMENT pulldown menu at the very bottom of the list.
