Sound Font Idea

I know this probably sounds a little weird, but I absolutely adore an aggressive ";sticks-in."; And I think it's kind of cool when you can hear them on audio recordings of drum corps shows. So I was thinking that a ";sticks-in"; sound on VDL might be pretty cool. In fact, from a strictly utilitarian perspective, it might even have a tiny educational benefit, in that, if nothing else, learners could hear when to bring their sticks in. Granted, that's a pretty small benefit, but this isn't an idea designed to revolutionize the software; just a slick little audio novelty.

And who knows...

Split sticks-in parts could be all the rage in a decade or two.

There's actually sticks-in sounds for snares and bass drums in VDL. You can hear an example of it in the Latin Lover demo at:
https://www.tapspace.com/latinlover.html
I actually have a lick that write when the situation lends itself (usually the end of a phrase). . .

All eighth notes: LH press, R on L stick shot, RH on rim, R on L stick click, Sticks in click.

(Hope that makes sense)(and if it's stolen from anyone reading this, I'm sorry)

The timbres go up in pitch.

Interesting.

Being a casual Salsa affecionado, I appreciate the amalgamation of styles in the Latin Lover piece. I also really, really liked Brian Perez' I&E performance in 2004, so it's great to see him staying involved.

And for novelty's sake, have you considered adding the acute shreik that only comes from fifty-pound freshman flautists who were coerced in to playing third bass, with promises of NOT being regularly speared in the ribcage by ";Knuckles,"; the awkwardly zealous 5-year vet of the high school bass drum line? :)
