UPGRADE FROM VIRTUAL DRUMLINE 2
Since VDL 2.5 has completely revamped all sample data, it will be necessary for VDL:2 users to receive a new DVD. There will be a very small DVD processing fee for existing VDL:2 users who registered prior to April 1, 2007. More information about upgrading will be available on the Tapspace website soon.

WHEN WILL IT BE AVAILABLE?
We’re working feverishly and making great progress. Stay connected to the Tapspace website for the most current information or join the Tapspace email list to be notified when it is shipping.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
• 5 GB of free hard disk space
• DVD Drive to install software
• RAM: 1 GB or more recommended
• Windows XP (required by KONTAKT PLAYER 2) Pentium 4 or Athlon 2.4 GHz or higher is recommended
• Macintosh OS X 10.4 or higher (required by KONTAKT PLAYER 2) PowerPC G5 or Mac-Intel recommended
• Notation or sequencing software to control sounds

In addition to running this software, note the system requirements of your host program, if applicable, and/or notation or sequencer program.
I purchased VDL: 2 on 4/23/2007, does that mean I do not have to pay for VDL:2.5?

Just to clarify, does this inslude native playback in Sibelius?

Oh and the addition of a pdf manual would be wonderful! ;)
No.  Sibelius does not currently support VST plug-in support.  Hopefully version 5 will solve this issue.  Sibelius uses an integrated Kontakt Player similar to the way VDL:2 uses it.  Sibelius's Kontakt player is proprietary to Sibelius.

Anyone know what the possibility of Log drums would be?  Or do I need to wait till VDL3?
No possibility for this upcoming release, but it's on the list.
2.5 sounds great! I look forward to the steel pans and the accent/tap velocity control (especially on crec/decrec). How does this affect people's workflow when using things like AULab, Bidule or Windows equivalent?

im new to this. im only 15. i want to purchase VDL 2.5 how much does it cost? email me. aaronvk200@yahoo.com

Read and enjoy Aaron.
Will the rhythm section sounds for VDL2.5 have different effects (i.e.: clean guitar, distorted guitar; grand piano, bright piano_etc_)?
There is just one piano. It's not full of bells and whistles, but for being something of a 'bonus' instrument, it's actually quite versatile. You'll have some added control over EQ levels so you can alter the sound a little bit if you choose. The guitar instrument will allow you to control distortion levels, chorus effect, tremolo, as well as playing sustained notes and muted notes. Again, this is another instrument that (for a percussion library) will have some reasonable flexibility. If you're looking for a fully pro-featured guitar library, there are certainly others out there that may suit your needs.
Dude...

Typewriter!

I saw this at WGI World Champs and I about died. I can't wait for this to come out.
