I have been using VDL:2 with Sibelius 4 for about a year now and have never encountered this problem. Yes, I have searched through the Forum and FAQ's to try to resolve this and have had no luck. Maybe someone can help. Here it is:
I have been working on a new score for about a week and have had no problems. I open the score this morning and this is what has been happening (note: this also happens if I open any previous scores):
I click on a note with my mouse and the pointer as well as the note turns blue. I try to manipulate the note using my cursor keys to change the pitch. As I do this, the next sequential note will become highlited and change pitch as well as the note head type will change. If I try to scroll through a succession of notes, the pitch and notehead type will change without me doing so. What can this be?
If I go to ";Playback and Input Devices"; and set my MIDI YOKE 1 to ";NO"; in the use column. I don't have this problem, but then of course I can not use VDL:2 to hear my score playback. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure, but it sounds like maybe your shift key might be down, or perhaps Caps Lock? This doesn't sound like anything MIDI related. I would suggest searching or posting a question on the Sibelius ";Chat Page"; which you'll find at:
I'll bet someone there will have an answer for you. Since you've never seen this in the past, my guess is that it's something simple.

I would suggest shutting your computer down, pressing every key on your keyboard and then restarting and opening Sibelius to see if you still notice this. Like Jim said, this is most likely due to a stuck key or maybe even numerous sticky keys on your computer keyboard.

Thanks guys. I just routed everything using the Midi Yoke 2 cable instead of the Midi Yoke 1. Not sure why the Yoke 1 is acting crazy. Temporary fix for now. Thanks!
