MIDI Sound Card Recommendations Please

Hello All.  I am finally buying a new computer after filling my hard drive to its limits!  Woohoo!  I need some recommendations on good quality MIDI sound cards.  I'm buying a pretty good computer so please let me know what some of the best sound cards out there would be.  Thanks!!
It seems like this discussion has already been had on the forum. I bet you could find that information through the search function.

I remember it being some really good info!
Read thru this post. It will be the most helpful one I found about sound cards. I have an Audigy 2 and it has never let me down yet.

Good Luck
Keep in mind ";MIDI"; is not ";audio."; Your soundcard is for audio.

Depending on what kind of system you have, you might check into one of these:

Another good topic is on the FAQ page at:

Thanks guys!  While I understand this topic has been posted in the past, I am looking for current info.  Computers and the equipment that goes with them constantly changes....hence asking about soundcards again.  Thanks for the info.  I should be able to figure out what I want now.  If not, I'll ask another question. :)

Ditto. Not the most glamorous card on the market, but sure gets the job done.
Emu 1212m or Audiophile 2496.

Either of those will blow the doors off your average consumer grade card.
I've also got a Sound Blaster Audigy 2.  Not super high-tech, but it works.
