Mods, feel free to delete if too far off topic, but I find this to be the only forum I know of I won't get responses including a ";LOL"; or ";pwned";.
Im putting together the tool box for the fall outdoor season. Other than what is suggested in ";Up Front";, what do you have hidden away in your tool box that could be useful? I'd like to build my box as complete as possible.
While we're at it, any good stories regarding fixing broken gear with items from your tool box?
Drum key, stick tape, wrench and a couple screwdrivers is usually what I'm packin'. We'll also bring an extra set of tenor and snare heads along for those really cold Maine shows late in the season. These will cover 95% of the issues I'll run into. The band birector usually has everything else covered. :P

pwnt.
er..
Just make sure you have small replacement parts for your equipment. Lug casings, screws, etc. IMO the UpFront reference is pretty complete but no matter how well you prepare the part that breaks almost always seems to be the one you don't have on-hand. :P

This isn't necessarily a ";percussion"; item. But I always have some moleskin on hand - for blisters, callouses, etc. It can be used on hands as well as feet. You will need some scissors to cut the amount you need. If you don't know what it is, click the link below.
It should be available at any pharmacy, drugstore, wal-mart, etc. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
Agreed to the poster who said no matter how many I items I put in there, I won't have the part that actually breaks.
Great idea on the moleskin, parachute cord, black spray paint and Wild Turkey. I hadn't thought of those.
BTW, Im not a duct tape guy. Due to my years as a live audio guy, I think Gaffers Tape (aka Gaff) is a far superior product.
