Licensing Question for VDL2

Tapspace,

I understand there are two install instances availible with a registered copy of VDL.  I have one on my home computer and another at my office, I transfer work from both places.  My office is upgrading all our computers and I want to re-install VDL on the new machine.  Is this possible as the old computer will get re-imaged and donated.  I also plan to upgrade to 2.5.  Will I be able to install the upgrade on both computers?

Thanks guys,

Ty Allinger (Hope)
You can unauthorize one (or both) of your instances at the Native Instruments site and then re-register when you install on your new computers.

Cheers!
I'm speaking about the Tapspace software not the NI engine.  I think the VDL DVD will only allow two installs.  Am I correct or is Josh on the money here?

The licensing/registering is done through the Native Instruments site. You can install the DVD as many times as you woud like, but you can only have two registered authorized instances at once. Hope that makes it more clear. At least I'm fairly certain that's how it works. ;)
Right. Without authorizing the software on each machine it's installed on, it will become inactive after a short 'demo' period. If you are getting rid of your old computer, please remove the software from the machine first.

To reiterate (because some people get confused by this), VDL comes with a single-user license. This means you may only install the software on your own machine. This machine has a System ID which is recorded to your personal account with Native Instruments.

The VDL 2.5 upgrade will work fine on both your new machines as well.
I dont see me having use for this, but..

Do I have two personal licenses for VDL2 and two personal licenses for VDL 2.5 for a total of 4?

EE
They are treated as 2 separate versions so you would be then be able to put VDL 2.5 on two computers regardless of howmany you have for VDL 2
Exactly. Remember these are still ";single user licenses"; so you are nor permitted to share the software with another person. If you're going to use both VDL2 and VDL 2.5, you must be the one using them.
