Finale 2007 Frz up!

Hello,

I very new to the world of digital music notation. I just purchaced VDL 2.5 and when I input notes into the template I move a note up and down and my computer frzs up.

Please advise!

Also,
Can you set up VDL to open with finale set up window, or do you always have to use the template? I'm not good at the MIDI keyboard stuff. I've been hand writing stuff for so long. I'm just new at this.

R,
Does this only happen when using a VDL template, or does this also happen when using a ";regular"; Finale score?

For Finale related issues, try: www.finaleforum.com
just the VDL template
I have 2 G of RAM
I don't have a MAC
VDL does not come with a text file that will work that same way as the Garritan Products do from the Setup Wizard. This would be great actually, but the library is not setup this way at this time.
Try these directions.  Sorry missread when I was on the phone:

Deleting Your Preferences in Windows
Please follow the following steps:
ۢ My Computer -->C:\ Drive (Local Disk C:\) -->Program Files Folder -->Finale 2007
ۢ Look for the two files that are labeled ۝Finale۝ and ";FINMIDI";
o If you go up to the top of the window you are looking at and click the View Menu and choose details, these files would be type: ";Configuration Settings";
o They look like two white spiral notepads with ONE orange gear-like icon on the right side.
ۢ Delete these two files.  Empty your  trash.  Restart your computer.  Reopen your program
Okay thanks
It most likely something with your system as to why this is freezing. Let us know if this doesn't help.

Try this for your template question:

You do not have to use the Template all the time as the Percussion Maps can be saved as a Library file by goin to the FILE MENU -->SAVE LIBRARY -->check ";Percussion Maps";. You can then load them into any file by going to FILE -->LOAD LIBRARY.

Hope this helps.
