Using the Full Version of Kontakt 2 with Sibelius 5?!?!?

How do you set up Kontakt 2 to run with Sibelius 5. If I use Kontakt Player 2 there is no way to do program changes in the middle of a piece because Kontakt Player does not have that capability. If I could figure out how to change the MIDI Channels on this new mixer I could do the rest. Is there any way to change the MIDI Channel?

PS: Why isn't there a new score template for Sibelius 5 yet? Is one being configured?

Hi Eric,

The VDL/Sibelius 5 template is in the works and getting close. Please check out this topic for more information:

With Sibelius 5, you won't really need to do program changes the way you used to (with Sibelius 4). Sibelius 5's new SoundWorld playback system completely changes how this works. So you can use Kontakt as a playback device in Sibelius 5, but you may not see much benefit doing it that way over Kontakt Player 2. The primary piece of the puzzle that will make this work seamlessly is the Virtual Drumline 2.5 Sound Set which you must assign to the active KP2 (or Kontakt 2) device you've activated for playback in Sibelius 5.

While this may sound different (I'm as resistant to change as anyone...), I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how things are going to integrate. We're just not quite finished with the detailing yet, but if you can hang tight for just a bit longer it'll be here soon.

Eric,

Staff Changes has become instrument changes.  Now, instead of entering a midi message and staff change and having to go through 3-4 clicks to complete the change, you only do one.  Instrument change will change the staff type and sound automatically.  I am still getting used to the change and was frustrated at first but am starting to really like the quickness.  You are able to configure your specific desired sounds in the playback menu, it takes time up front but will ultimately save loads of busy work!

Let me know if I can be of any help.
