Up Front Etudes....

Jim, Jim and Company - I just want to compliment you on ";Up Front Etudes";. What a great resource for the front ensemble. I highly recommend the book as a compliment to ";Up Front";. Any percussion instructor or band director would be foolish not to have both in their library. Bravo!

In a world dominated by ";flam-drag fighter pilots"; it is great to have the front ensemble resources for students to become ";keyboard-chromatic-run super jockeys";. Your resources empower the battery kids AND the front ensemble. Thanks again.

Mike - Thanks for the compliments. I've forwarded your note to Jim Ancona too. I'm sure he'll appreciate your endorsement. He is truly one of the best.

It's always good to hear when we've struck a chord, so thanks for chiming in with this. :)

I agree. I have been in many front ensemble on many levels whether it be PIW in WGI or High school. I plan on using this book to teach technique but also balance and musicality with the high schools I instruct. I believe that this will be much more beneficial than just learning exercises because it is more engaging and covers musical concepts tha just exercises can not.
