First of all...I'm a noob to VDL so this problem may have a simple solution. I am using VDL 2.5 with Finale 08 on Vista. Whenever I play the Snare part by itself, everything is fine, but once I go back to the score and play it with all of the other pit instruments, the Snare's volume goes out of control. Instead of minding dynamics that I have set, it just stays at one volume level while all of the other instruments are working fine. I am using the Snareline Manual Full/Lite (MW) percussion map. Any suggestions?
Please check this post and if you can give us just a bit more information that would help. It might help to put some of these things in your Signature in your Profile settings so that they are already there.
1. Are you using Human Playback? What type? 2. How much RAM do you have? 3. Spacebar-click or Playback button? 4. have you gotten the new 2.5.1 update for your VDL Library?
Thanks and looking forward to helping you.

Thanks very much for helping...My computer info is in my signature
I was pressing the play button to listen to the file. Oddly enough, when viewing the score, the spacebar would make the sounds work correctly, but when viewing just the Snare part, it is the reverse...the play button works correctly and the spacebar makes it ignore dynamics.
I was not aware of 2.5.1. Could you post a link to it please?
Also, another noob question while I'm at it. The default notes for tenors sound like buzzes instead of an actual stroke...Same for the basses except they are rim clicks. I know I'm missing something, but is that a setting in the map that I am using? How do I go about changing that to where I don't have to use a triple sharp to get to the sound that I want?
Again, thanks alot for the help!

are you using the latest template for Finale 2008 from Tapspace?
if you are, are you using a MIDI-keyboard or are you putting them in using another method such as just clicking the notes on the staff or using the FACEG method...? This will make a huge difference in how the ";output"; sounds. VDL is one of those things that has many notes corresponding to the same staff placement so make sure you are using the right MIDI pitch.

Thanks for the update link!
And as far as entry goes, I am using the speedy entry tool and putting the notes in the FACEG spaces. I AM using the Finale 08 template...what is the recommended method for entering notes to get regular strokes?
BTW, I fixed the volume problem by running the file through the Smart Playback plugin it TGtools.
Thanks for all the help guys...I really appreciate it
