Hello all, I am here to reopen a conversation thread that was previously closed. I am sorry for the situation that closed the previous thread, but that situation is one that many of us have had to deal with through the years as members of the SCV 1998 line. I am confident we can have an open thread about this at this time. Nuff said.
As many of you know, I am the author of Not for the Faint of Heart: My Journey to Manhood in the Santa Clara Vanguard, a book written about my time as a tenor drummer in SCV from 1996-1998. Writing this book took a great deal of time and research. Some of the research was made easy because of video and audio recordings I made at the time. Many of the quotes in the book are exact and I believe that is what makes the book so shocking and emotional. These events occurred, and occurred in the way that I wrote about them.
This experience in my life changed me profoundly, in the same way many people on this forum have been changed by their experience in drum corps. I ordered the book after reading about it in the previously closed topic (before it headed off into never never land).  I received the book just a few days ago and have already read the entire thing.  GREAT book man.  In all honesty, I never marched SCV (Boston Crusaders and Cavaliers here) but there were quite a few things that I could relate to or that made me remember something that happened to me in one of my corps.  GREAT book.  I highly recommend it.
