Just curious...  anyone seen the commercial?  It's an odd collection of buzz rolls, but they sound awfully familiar...

I've missed the Pontiac commercial - so far.  What about the commercial for Saturn? Is it using brass and VDL sounds to create a feel that's a funkified version of [i]Hail to the Chief[/i]?  Since Pontiac and Saturn are divisions of General Motors, maybe they are using the same music.

That was exactly my thought. I saw the ad for Saturn last night and backed it up a couple of times to listen to the tenor samples (I love you, TIVO).

It has to be VDL, there's no way around it!

I saw a commercial last night that was advertising the Sierra pickup truck manufactured by GMC.  They were using the same funkified version of [i]Hail to the Chief[/i] that was used in the Saturn commercial I saw recently.  It sure sounds like VDL to me.

Yeah, those sounds have to be VDL.  I figured Jim might have had a hand in it because didn't he do some stuff for Cadillac as well?

I just saw that spot recently as well. Like everyone else here, my ears perked up, and I knew right away that this was VDL in action. I didn't do the music for that one though. I'm not sure who did that one, but it's cool to hear VDL on prime time. :)

I can only imagine how you feel Jim.�� For you, your hearing ";my baby.";�� I know that really rocks.�� I enjoy it as a VDL user because it keeps the sounds of marching percussion, no matter what the style, in front of the mainstream audience.�� I think it has indirect consequences that are really good. ;)

After the commercial work you've done, if you had done this one, it would have had to be a ";special request";.  ;)

ok so I finally saw the chevy commercial tonight, and i am pretty convinced that it was VDL. Me and 3 other friends of mine all kinda looked up at the same time and sort of all smiled n said it at the same time ";hey, thats VDL"; lol
