Transferring Updates?

Forgive me if this issue has already been adressed.  I searched to no avail.

My iMac in my office is not connected to the school network so it's not online.  If it were, I would have to get a tech admin everytime I wanted to install/update something and it's just not worth it.  I usually just take it home when updates are needed.  Lately, things haven't gotten pretty busy and I haven't had the time to pack it up, get it home, update everything, and get it back to school.  Now on to my question:

If install Sibelius 5.1 on my iMac (still running 4 and it already has VDL 2.5), is it possible to transfer (via usb drive for example) any updates from my laptop (MacBook Pro that has everything up to date) and install the necessary updates on the iMac?

Thanks for any advice anyone has.

If you have the Sibelius 5 package, it's probably on a DVD so you should be good there. However, updating to 5.1 (from 5.0 on the DVD) may require you to download that installer from the Sibelius website. You can download that at home and bring the installer onto your work iMac  without any problems, at which point you'd have to run the installer to update the software.

The main thing I think you may find you'll run into is authorizing the software. It's by far most convenient to authorize the machine if it's connected to the internet. You can still do it via phone though, so you won't be sunk. It may just take a little longer.

Hope this helps!
