Some snare sounds do not play - Please Help

I love VDL2.5.  It is changing the way I write.  So I started to expand upon some sounds like ribbon crashers and cowbell on the snare drum (using Snare Drum Manual, not LITE or Auto).  The ribbon crashes notate properly.  I can here them when I play the correct key on my Oxegyn 8, but when I press play in Finale 2008, the ribbon crashes do not play.  Any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Ron
Coach may be able to help you out here a little better than I can since he has helped me with this problem before. If i can find the steps he told me to take I will post them on here but for the most part is has to do with making sure.... ok just found it... my particular problem was in regards to BD AutoR/L but these steps should work the same for snare...

try these steps...

1.) STAFF TOOL -->double-click on the BD staff ---- Instead of clicking on the BD staff, Click on the SN (snare) staff
2.) NOTATION STYLE: PERCUSSION...clicked SELECT to bring up the Percussion Map Selection
3.) Selected the BD Map for the staff and then clicked EDIT ----- Select the SN (snare) staff
4.) Chose ALL NAMED NOTES and VIEW ONLY NAMED NOTES at the bottom of the window
5.) Scrolled down to D5 (BD unison clicks for the Auto R/L map) ----- scroll down to the pitch that is the ribbon crasher

At the right side of the Percussion Map Designer there is a PLAYBACK NOTE.  This should say 74 for BD Auto R/L.  The Playback Note here was 0 and had somehow been changed. ---- for your case, the ribbon crasher pitcher playback note, make sure it has a number there and not 0, sorry I dont know the exact number, like I said Coach can probably help you out there...

for further info, I got all the info from this thread.... https://www.tapspace.com/forums/index.php?topic=1792.0

hope this helps. . .

This is what I would check right away.  This may be somewhat strange to check, but what you are experiencing seems to match what he was also experiencing.  How that changed?  NOT SURE.    Check that and let us know if you still are having trouble with that.
