Reformatting - do I need to deactivate?

My hard drive is a pigsty, so I'm in the process of preparing to reformat it.  Should I deactivate VDL:2.5 before I do so?

Also, if I should, how would I go about doing that?  I didn't see an option for it in the Service Center, and the NI web site says...";The de-activation option has been removed from this page due to optimizations in our activation system which make this option unnecessary for the time being.";  I'm not sure what that means, but it seems a little useless to only allow two activations at a time, but have the activations be permanent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
I have done a few re-format's to my HDD, and I have not had to de-activate it before, and I have not run into any problems as of yet...
Sweet.  I did a bit of surfing after I posted, and found the answer to the latter half of my post.
