I like to notate tenor crossover sticking by placing the notehead in parenthesis; I find that this is a lot easier to visually recognize than slashing the notehead. How can I do this using the VDL template?

On the keypad's second menu (by pressing + on the keypad).  I believe the parenthesis is the number 1.

Well, that was easy. Must have missed that keypad entry.

I'm a new Sibelius user with a v5.2 DVD. I cannot revert to a lower version.
