Stick Clicks

I have Sibelius 5.1 loaded (after a number of re-loads resulting from prematurely upgrading to 5.2).  I'm using VDL 2.5.1.  I imported the VDL 2.5 voices into a working score.

For this event I don't believe this matters but I'm using Windows XP with 2 GB of memory.

I entered a ";stick click"; onto my snare voice but it comes out with a ";snare"; sound output on playback.  I checked the notehead and it properly displays notehead #1.  I also checked the playback dictionary and it appears as though the notehead is in the correct position on the staff (";D";).

Where have I gone wrong?

Are you using a midi keyboard to enter your notes?  Or clicking on the staff directly?
I'm using an M-Audio Keystation 88es for note input.

Folks, found my own answer.  I worked through this one once before and had forgotten the conversation between Jim, Hugh and me from a while back.

My current problem and the one I previously experienced?  I had imported VDL house style into a Sibelius version pre 5.1 (probably 3).  So, as I had done in the past, I started over by using the 5.1 template, loaded all of the rehearsal marks, time signatures (made one mistake initially), instruments and so forth and that corrected my problem. My clue this time was that I could not see all the note heads (discussed in the thread I referred to) and that triggered a domino affect in my memory.

If you import to a Sibelius pre-5/5.1 version, you're not going to get all of the noteheads and therefore sounds built into the 5.1 template.

It was my fault yet again.

Steve - thanks for letting us know what your solution was. I was actually just responding when you typed this, so I'm glad to hear you found your solution.
Jim, no problem.  You guys are busy answering questions to difficult issues.  You shouldn't have to answer the same question twice!!
