Sib 5.2 Rests and note placement

I have a small gripe about Sib 5.2 soundset.  It occurred in Sib 5.1 soundset as well.

The tenor line displays the rests in the wrong place.  Especially, half note and eight/sixteenth note rests.  How can I go in and fix this to a default setting?  I know I can probably drag them, but that could become a lot more work than just changing the default.

Also, I have used the double stop shell hits from the tenor line lately.  And since I write stickings throughout the entire snare and quad parts, I am seeing that the stickings collide with the placement of the double stop shell hits.  Is it a pain for me to edit the note placement myself as to where I would like it placed.  Maybe up just a little would be nice for me.

If neither of these can be fixed by myself, I understand.  Just want to see if it could be done.

Does nobody have an answer to this question?

Well, I'm no guru, but a couple of things you asked about, I've encountered too, so I'll at least share my experience.

This is something I haven't had a problem with, and I'm guessing others haven't either which is why there hasn't been any replies to your post. I'm sure someone much smarter than I am is thinking about it for you and will have some pointers.

Here are the two things I do to get me out of this sort of jam:
1. I pretty frequently flip the beaming ";up"; which tends to un-clutter the lyrics/stickings. You can do this manually by selecting the first note or group of notes and clicking 'X'. Also you can edit the instrument to tell Sibelius you always want the stems up. You do this by:
    a. House Style, Edit Instruments
    b. Select the instrument in question, click edit instruments
    c. in the next window, click on Edit Staff Types
    d. in the next window, click on the ";notes and rests"; tab
    e. then, from the middle of the window, you can select ";Always Up"; for your stem direction.
This might be a permanent -- I don't know -- or it may only apply to that particular file, but it's one way to solve the issue.
2. The other thing is perhaps simpler. I just recently ";discovered"; that if one of your lyrics/stickings is highlighted, then clicking ctrl (cmd) - shift - A, will select the rest of the text in that line, thus allowing you to arrow key or drag the lyrics out of the way en masse.

I hope some of that will help.

Robby - sorry for the delay. I just looked into this on the 5.2 template and am seeing 8th and half rests being placed too low, and 16th rests being placed a little high. In trying to troubleshoot, I'm not sure where the solution lies. The default settings for notes/rests in the Instrument editor seem correct. For some reason, this instrument seems to be aligning to a different grid than usual as dragging them up/down doesn't go to the expected positions either.

If anyone has any suggestions for a fix here, I think we'd all benefit from it. Thanks.
Has anyone figured this out to make a ";universal"; fix yet?

I'm just checking again, does anyone out there have any tips for fixing this?
