Hi,
I have been having trouble using the VDL template and Sibelius. I have been referred to post my question up on this forum by Tim Williams. He said that there was someone looking for my post. If you would like to know more just ask your question and I will give as much information as I can give.

Well I have read all the files with the template and did everthing they told me to do. I have followed the instructions word by word. I have installed it properly and even when i go to the soundset to choose it the template is there. The problem is, is that when i go to choose the instruments the VDL 2.5 section isn't there, only the ones that came with Sibelius sounds.

If you aren't seeing the VDL 2.5 instruments, it sounds like you're not using the template. The template is the Sibelius file (.sib) that you downloaded with the sound set and ReadMe. If you don't start from the template, you won't see any pre-formatted VDL instruments.
My recommendation would be to take a deep breath, then double-check that you've followed the instructions correctly. Please realize that you'll be learning a new tool. If something is unclear to you, it's most likely that you haven't yet learned your way around completely. Be patient while you carefully review the documentation so you can learn as you go.

Just to see if i am on the same page. Is it not an XML sound file. If it is then I can explain better. In the playback devices it says that the ";VDL Sound Set 5.2"; is active with Kontact 2, but when ever I go choose the instruments only the Sibelius sound instruments are there not the VDL 2.5 as it shows in the readme file.

Right. So you've installed the sound set correctly (that's the XML file). This is good. That's step one.
Next - open the template. Don't open a new, stock Sibelius file. That won't have any VDL instruments in it. Instead open the VDL Template.sib file that you downloaded. In there you'll see all the VDL instruments when you go to Create>Instruments.
Use the template as your starting point and you should be good to go.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
Now it finally works. And just for my own enjoyment. Why does it not work when ever I open up a regular Sibelius score? But any way thank you very much. I have been waiting since the TMEA convention earlier this year when I believe I met with you and found out about this software. It has been some very stressful months. Thank you so much.
Also, I have been messing with my newly founded sounds but have come to find that I am only getting a few of them. I have gone to the Kontackt player and checked that those sounds were correct where they are playing. Is there some way I can ";unlock"; the other sounds lower in the register. For more of an understanding only a few sounds in the center of the main staff are working.

Please refer to the ReadMe that comes with the template.
