I've read the other posts about pit instruments playing back their maxed out mod Wheel versions (xylo gliss, most notably) but I can't seem to keep my Sib 5.2 scores from playing back with a maxed out mod wheel. I've tried finding info in the manual to no avail. I have input all of my scores via ";point and click"; so there should not be any mod wheel commands being sent, I do not think. I have even tried the whole ~C1,1 command in technique text, and this doesn't seem to work. Is there a setting I am missing? And yes, I did upgrade to the new 5.2 update and updated the house style. Any thoughts?
Are you starting with the VDL template or someone else's score? Where are you placing ~c1,1 -at the beginning of the staff?

I am placing the ~c1,1 at the beginning of the staff. I am opening old scores then applying the new vdl sib 5 house style to them, which doesnt seem to change ANYTHING.

The way the Sibelius 5/VDL template was designed, there should no longer be a need for the ~C1,1 type controller messages. I wonder if you're experiencing these problems due to some text in the score that's being interpreted by the Sibelius Playback Dictionary.
You mentioned about this problem occurring when opening old scores then converting them into the new template. If these were produced in the Sibelius 4 template, the noteheads from the old template are not compatible with the Sibelius 5 template. For Sib4 scores, it's best to play them back the old way, not converting to Sibelius 5.
