Hello, I am new to VDL 2.5 and need some help. I have Sib 5 and VDL 2.5 on a Dell XPS 1530, I am running Vista with a 2GHZ Processor and 4 gigs of ram.
My Problem is when I play back sounds in Sib with VDL it plays all the rhythms wrong and out of time. It is really choppy like the computer can not keep up with the program. However when I use the native sounds in Sib it playes them correct. Can someone help me with this? thanks ahead of time!!

I am having the same problem. Tried uninstall/reinstall...no help. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance. System: Dell XPS 410, Vista, 4 gigs of ram, 2.4 Ghs processor.
Also use the ASIO setting if you have it, or download the free ASIO4all driver if you don't. Dells usually have crappy soundcards.

J Mattson offers some great input regarding ASIO drivers and latency settings.
However, if you're doing this directly in Sibelius 5, you'll need to make these settings in Sibelius (which is the host application), rather than KP2 (which is a plug-in in this case).
This is accomplished in Sibelius's Audio Engine Options window. See the screenshot below to see what I mean. One of the most common causes of playback glitches/skipping within Sibelius 5 has to do with the settings in this window being out of whack.
Do you need to restart Sibelius for the changes to take effect?

I don't believe so.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I installed an ASIO driver and did some tinkerring with the latency settings. The playback issue went away. Thank you.
