What program would I need to use to extract samples for use with a Roland SP404?
Some of the sources that I'd like to sample are in the following formats: CD DVD (a stretch?) .mp3 .wav Internet-based files (YouTube, Hulu, etc; also a stretch?)
Audacity would be an easy, lightweight, and free solution. Depending on your grade of sound card, it normally allows you to record what it playing through your sound card, thus allowing you to play each of your aforementioned sources and just record them as they play. You can then use the same program to clean them up and do what you will with them.
Hope this helps.
