Hey everyone! I've recently entered the market for a good marimba mic since my old one just isn't cutting the bill anymore.

I'll be mainly recording marimba works (maybe some other mallet stuff too) and possibly some basic battery stuff (snare solos, maybe some multi pieces) but I will NOT be recording any drumset with it. Do you guys have any advice on a good mic and processor/mixer for these purposes that doesn't cost a whole lot? $100-$140 at most?

Do you have one of the direct-to-USB versions, or one that plugs into a mixer?

I have never used the USB. . . but I have 24 of the hard wired mics.
