Sounds Change On Their Own....

OK,

This is really getting frustrating. It seems that every time I get half way through a project, sounds change on their own. This time the cowbells are mapping to a vibraslap sound. I have entered everything correctly as far as I know. Intitially, the entire drumset changed to a vibraslap. I corrected this but placing an instrument change before the drumset entrance.

Now, on another staff, when I try an instrument change to cowbells, and enter the correct notehead, a vibraslap sounds. It is also throwing in an instrument change to a guiro just to add to the fun. I went to the instrument edit and verified the note head. It shows the correct sample, but still sounds as a vibraslap.

Again, this is beginning to be a normal issue for me. Each time I get half way through a project, sounds change on their own. Is it a Sibelius issue? or a VDL problem (I don't seem to have problems with the Non-VDL sounds...yet).

Can anyone help??

Jeff

Thanks!  It's working so far!
If the instrument changes in the score are in fact correct, try this:

Open all instances of KontaktPlayer2. Delete (close) all patches that are loaded. Close all instances of KP2. Save file. Go to Play > Playback Configuration. Select a different configuration. Close the dialog box. Hit play or click on a note in the score. Let Sibelius load patches. Go to Play > Playback Configuration. Select the original configuration. Close the dialog box. Hit play or click on a note in the score. Let Sibelius load patches. Playing the score now should get you the right sounds.

The longer you work in a file and the more instrument changes you have within it (even between closing and opening the file), Sibelius doesn't always correctly keep track of the patches that are loaded in KP2. The above steps will reset and reload everything to match the score. And make sure you have enough instances of KP2 to handle the amount of instruments in the score to alleviate slot sharing (have this turned off in Preferences too).
