Kontakt Player doesnt show up on Available devices on Sibelius 5

my VDL 2.5 came in today and i tried using it and following the directions in the booklet but when it said ";Select Kontakt PLayer 2 from the Available Devices and click the Activate button"; i got confused because Kontakt PLayer 2 doesnt even show up on my Available Devices list. Help ME!
We're going to need a lot more information before we can begin to help you.  Mac or PC?  Sibelius or Finale, etc?
oh sorry
uhh i have a PC windows vista and sibelius 5
If you have a legit copy of Sibelius 5 and installed Sibelius Essentials, you should already have Kontakt Player 2 showing up as an available device. Did you install Sibelius Essentials?  Did you copy the KontaktPlayer.dll files from the Native Instruments folder to the Sibelius VST folder? You have to give more details than just ";i tried using it and following the direction in the booklet";.

If you accurately followed the instructions, everything should be working fine. Once you do get it working, the next step is purchasing the template, which includes the necessary soundset file and template file that enable you to use VDL2.5 effectively. Here are a few more resources for you while we're at it:

Also, try using a little capitalization and punctuation so your thoughts are a little more easily interpretted. Hopefully they still teach that sort of stuff in school these days.
Ok, but i do not have Sibelius Essentials downloaded for some reason. How would i get it?
That should be an option on your Sibelius 5 install disk.  I believe that choice is on the first screen after initializing the installer for Sibelius 5.

Regardless, if you installed VDL 2.5, all you need to do is copy the KontaktPlayer.dll from the Native Instruments folder to the Sibelius VST folder as Bryan mentioned.
Yeah I probably should have payed more attention when i was downloading it because I cant find the Sibelius 5 disks. Is there another way for me to download it?
I'm sure if you contact Sibelius' customer support you could get a replacement disk:

Anyway, if you go through the setup instructions that have already been linked and suggested in this thread, you should have no problems getting Sibelius to see VDL/KP2.

Until you detail exactly what you've done, no one will be able to help you.
So if the KontactPlayer.dll gets copied to the Sebelius VST folder it will allow Kontact Player to show up in Available Devices? Because i have that same problem.

Yes. This should solve your problem. If you installed the Kontakt Player 2 VST plugin when installing VDL, it should be in a VST folder within your Kontakt Player 2 folder. Just copy the file (right-click/copy) then paste it into the Sibelius VST folder (right-click/paste).

What exactly do you mean by ";download";? As Justin mentioned, they might send you a replacement disk if perhaps you can call Sibelius tech support and give them your serial number - if in fact it is a serial number that you could share without getting in trouble.
1.  Go to PLAY -->Playback Devices.
2.  Click on AUDIO ENGINE button at the bottom
3.  There is a section at the bottom where it is showing you where Sibelius is looking for VST PLugins.
4.  Click BROWSE and point to the C:\Program Files\Sibelius Software\VST Plugins  (on vista it is Program Files (x86))

Choose this directory.  Make sure you have copied the KontaktPlayer2.dll file into this directory as well otherwise it still will not show up in the available devices.  The KontaktPlayer2.dll will be in the C:\Native Instruments\Kontakt Player 2\VST Plugins directory.
