*I searched for previous posts regarding this topic but couldn't find anything addressing my issue.

I'm having some trouble with the muted bass drum hits. Well, just one drum actually: Bass 4. Basses 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 all have the correct playback when I input notes that are muted w/ LH. However, when I hit A6 on my MIDI controller to trigger a muted hit on Bass 4, I hear a rim click. (This rim click sound also occurs during playback of the score). I've set all of the muted notes to Notehead 0 and attached a staccato marking to all of them just like the mapping diagram says to, but I still get the rim click sound for the Bass 4 hit muted w/ LH. I've tried entering a muted note on Bass 3 and just moving it down a space on the staff but that didn't work either. I'm working with Sibelius 5.2, VDL 2.5, the VDL Template 5.2.5, and BassLine Manual LITE. Thanks in advance for any help.

Correction: I think I have VDL 2.5.1 because I went to the NI Service Center and there are no updates for me to download.

If you're using the VDL 5.2.5 Template, I would recommend you use Sibelius 5.2.5. You should be able to download the updater from 5.2 to 5.2.5 directly from Sibelius at:
http://www.sibelius.com/helpcenter/upgrades.html

Once you've done that, let us know if you're still experiencing the problem.

I just upgraded to Sibelius 5.2.5 but that didn't fix the problem. Do I need to start a new score now that I've upgraded?

Which sound set do you have assigned in your score?

VDL SoundSet 5.2.5

If this is a score that was initially created in 5.2 (even though you're running it in Sibelius 5.2.5), be sure to assign VDL Soundset 5.2.
