Since VDL will integrate right into Finale 2008 via the Kontakt Player 2, you're basically covered software wise.
If you do not already own one, a MIDI keyboard will be extremely helpful, especially if you are not used to working with percussion maps and percussion notation in Finale. A Korg nanoKEY can be picked up for about $50, and M-Audio has some fairly inexpensive, quality keyboards as well:
Be sure to read the system requirements for [url=https://www.tapspace.com/Virtual-Drumline-25-pr-6.html]Virtual Drumline[/url]. Be sure your computer fits within those requirements. It definitely works better if you have a more current machine with a healthy amount of RAM, although some of this will depend on how thickly you plan to score your music.
