Can't find the sounds!

I just recently upgraded my system to Leopard.  When I go to play Finale files, it says sounds are missing.  The message says ";assumes"; and then something in the library.  I can load them all manually, but then I have to go right back and do it again even if I save it.

I also can't build a new document and choose the sounds without Finale crashing.

Any help?

Thanks!
Dave
Dave,

Which version of Finale do you have?

Also, do you get a specific error message when Finale crashes on document setup?
I'm using Finale 2009.
I thought Finale 2009 came with a version of VDL. I may be wrong.
It is a very limited selection of the VDL sounds.

When you upgraded your system, did you also upgrade your computer to a new Intel Mac?  If that is the case, you may be opening files that were made with the earlier VDL 2.  VDL2 was not Universal Binary (";made for the Intel Mac"; if you will) and will not be able to be seen from Finale 2009 unless Finale is run in Rosetta (not suggested).  When opening these files that were made with VDL2, You would get an error message stating that it cannot find the sounds since Finale will not be able to see them (see attached picture).  You would then need to manually load those sounds and then save the file.

It might help to give us some computer specs and what error you are getting via a screen shot.  This will help determine the direction to go (i.e. if you are simply using older files that used VDL2 where you'd have to do this with anyway, or if you are indeed missing the sounds).
